Serbia adopts energy law package

Yesterday, the Parliament of Serbia adopted a package of laws on energy, renewable energy sources, energy efficiency and mining. The Energy Law is expected to introduce long-awaited reforms, including unbundling of electricity and gas transmission system operators. The Law on Renewables constitutes a milestone for auctions and market-based renewable energy support. The package anticipates certain elements of the Clean Energy Package, which will be adopted in the Energy Community later this year, including the promotion of prosumers.
