In comparison to the CAT, the municipal S-7 train offers a cheaper but somewhat lengthier alternative. The transfer time between Wien Mitte and the airport amounts to approx. 25 minutes. A one way ticket costs 4.40 EUR and includes public transportation within the city of Vienna. The service runs in half an hour intervals between 04:19 and 00:18 (status 04/2019).
Another means of transportation is ÖBB railjet. It leaves Vienna Main station starting from 5:42 until 23:40, every half an hour. It leaves Vienna Airport starting from 4:42 until 23:48. The ÖBB railjet also stops at Wien Meidling and the shortest travel time from Vienna International Airport is 27 minutes. Sometimes, it is necessary to change at Vienna Main Station. The Vienna Airport Lines offer three connections between the airport and Vienna city centre. If you wish to pay a visit to the Secretariat, you should opt for the connection to and from Morzinplatz. The ride between Morzinplatz and the airport takes about 20 minutes. The price of a one way ticket amounts to 8 EUR and for return 13 EUR (status 04/2019).
A taxi rank can be found directly outside the airport. Inside the arrival hall there are taxi companies with fixed rate charges. With some companies you can book your transfer on-line prior to your arrival. The fixed rate charge to the city centre levels on average 33 EUR. Radio stations in Vienna (31300, 40100 and 60160) offer a fixed price transfer for 36 EUR.
