Based on the Secretariat's proposal, the 14th Ministerial Council appointed Prof. Dr. Verica Trstenjak and Prof. Dr. Alan Riley as members of the Advisory Committee until 31 December 2020 and extended the term of Dr. Wolfgang Urbantschitsch (member representing the European Union), Prof. Dr. Rajko Pirnat and Prof. Dr. Helmut Schmitt von Sydow as members of the Advisory Committee and Mr. Nikola Radovanovic, Mr. Visar Hoxha as alternate members of the Advisory Committee for the same period, under Article 32 of the amended Dispute Settlement Rules.
The Ministerial Council further clarified that the Advisory Committee composed of Mr Urbantschitsch, Mr Pirnat and Mr Schmitt von Sydow is competent to deal with and give opinions in cases initiated before 16 October 2015 in line with Article 46(2) of the amended Dispute Settlement Rules.
To enable compliance with Article 32(3) of the Dispute Settlement Rules, the Secretariat proposed the Ministerial Council to reappoint the current members and alternate members of the Advisory Committee in 2020. The 18th Ministerial Council confirmed the proposal and reappointed the current members and alternate members until 31 December 2024.
