  • Accelerating Renewable Energy Deployment and Just Transition in the Western Balkans: Energy Community Centre for Permitting and Planning
  • Vacancies

Call for Expression of Interest

The Energy Community Secretariat, through its Centre for Renewables Acceleration, invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) for technical assistance support to develop Pilot Projects related to Renewable Acceleration Areas (RAAs) in the Western Balkans.

RAAs are designated areas that enable faster deployment of renewable energy projects through simplified permitting and reduced administrative barriers, in line with the Revised Renewable Energy Directive (RED III).

This initiative is supported by the Open Society Foundations Western Balkans.

The support aims to help Contracting Parties:

  • Identify and prepare priority areas for the accelerated deployment of renewables;
  • Streamline procedures for renewables spatial planning and permitting;
  • Integrate environmental protection and social safeguards into renewables planning and permitting;
  • Promote a Just Transition, particularly in coal-dependent, industrial and economically vulnerable regions
