The PECI label provides access to funding opportunities through instruments such as IPA III, NDICI – Global Europe, WBIF, NIP, EFSD & EFSD+, and the Ukraine Facility. While each instrument has strict eligibility criteria, the PECI label significantly enhances the value and credibility of any project that meets the requirements. The Secretariat plays a key role in assisting selected project promoters by guiding them through the application process and working with the European Commission and International Financial Institutions (IFIs) to secure funding for PECI projects.

The PECI label provides funding opportunities, with Bosnia and Herzegovina benefiting from two key projects: E01, enhancing the 220 kV interconnection with Montenegro, and E04, the Trans Balkan Corridor, featuring a double 400 kV OHL from Bajina Basta to Visegrad and Pljevlja, bolstering regional energy infrastructure.
 

Six municipalities from Bosnia and Herzegovina participate in the Clean Air Regions Initiative (CARI), the highest number of municipalities from any Contracting Party. By joining CARI, these municipalities develop tailored Local Air Quality Action Plans, set ambitious targets, and contribute to the collective effort for cleaner air. Members also benefit from sharing experiences and learning from others through CARI’s events, strengthening their impact and access to valuable resources.
