Georgia benefits from EU4Energy support aimed at enhancing its energy market transparency and integrating renewable energy practices. The assistance focuses on supporting the Georgian State Electrosystem (GSE) and the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC) in drafting the residual mix calculation methodology and disclosure rules for Guarantees of Origin. These rules are crucial for Georgia's transposition of REDII and the Electricity Directive, enabling clear and accurate reporting of energy sources to consumers. The support also includes the development of rules for issuing, transferring, and cancelling of Guarantees of Origin for renewable gases, heating, and cooling. Additionally, training and capacity-building workshops were conducted to ensure that GSE and GNERC can effectively implement and manage the new frameworks, ensuring compliance with Energy Community acquis and international standards.
