Title: Women Powering Today, Inspiring Tomorrow

The Photographer Behind the Image

  • Inspiration and background:

What inspired me most was realising that energy is not only about technology – it is about people, responsibility and protecting lives. In this sector, knowledge, awareness and the right safety practices can prevent accidents and save lives. Today, this motivates me even more to share that responsibility with younger generations, helping them understand the risks, stay vigilant and work safely. For me, educating people to respect energy is one of the most meaningful contributions I can make.

One of the biggest challenges for women entering, remaining in and advancing in the energy sector is overcoming stereotypes about what roles women can perform, particularly in technical and field-based positions. Women often have to prove their competence before they are fully trusted or recognised. Creating equal opportunities is not only about bringing women into the sector, but also about building an environment where their knowledge, skills and leadership are valued equally. Greater visibility, mentorship and support can help more women build long-term careers and advance into leadership roles.

  • Short biography:

I am an electronic engineer with over 25 years of professional experience across technical and organisational fields, including microwave technology, technical coordination, translation, internal auditing and training development. My experience also includes conducting internal audits related to quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental management.

I currently serve as Head of Training at Kosovo Electricity Distribution Company (KEDS), where I lead learning and development initiatives, mainly focused on developing technical employees in the energy sector. Through the KEDS Academy, we regularly prepare new generations entering the energy field, equipping them with technical knowledge, practical skills and safety awareness. I am passionate about mentoring and empowering people, particularly young women entering energy and other traditionally male-dominated fields, encouraging them to build confidence, pursue leadership and become role models for the next generation.

“Being a woman in energy has taught me that competence has no gender. When you believe in your abilities, keep learning and never give up, you can challenge stereotypes, earn respect and create space for the women who come after you.”
