Women in Energy Photo Contest: Natalija Zindović

Title: Solar System Installation

The Photographer Behind the Image

  • Inspiration and background:

The energy sector inspires me because every project is a new challenge and an opportunity to learn. I work across solar, wind and hydropower projects, and although they may share similarities, every project is unique. On most projects, I have been involved throughout the entire journey – from the initial idea to development, construction and commissioning, ultimately delivering a tangible result: electricity. I particularly value the collaboration with diverse teams, from engineers and contractors to investors, and the opportunity to turn an idea into something real and valuable.

From my experience, the biggest challenge for women in energy is not simply entering the energy sector, but building trust and creating the space to demonstrate our expertise, take responsibility and deliver results. Energy has traditionally been a male-dominated environment, yet working on complex projects has shown me how valuable diverse perspectives are. Women should have equal opportunities to lead, make decisions and be involved throughout the entire project process. I believe meaningful change starts with leading by example – showing through our work that women’s place in energy is not an exception, but a natural part of the sector’s future.

  • Short biography:

I am an Electrical Engineer and Project Manager, and a Specialist in Electric Power Systems, with over a decade of experience in the energy sector, specialising in the development and implementation of renewable energy projects. I have extensive experience working on solar, wind and hydropower projects in Montenegro and the wider region.

My professional experience covers the entire project lifecycle – from developing project concepts, feasibility studies and technical solutions, through project preparation and design, to construction, commissioning and operation. I currently serve as CEO of Sistem-MNE, where I lead teams and renewable energy projects, transforming technically complex ideas into practical and sustainable energy solutions.

I am deeply motivated by the opportunity to contribute to Montenegro’s energy transition and the development of its clean energy sector. As a woman working in a male-dominated industry, I am committed to demonstrating that technical expertise, leadership and perseverance can drive meaningful change. I believe the future of energy is shaped by people who combine knowledge, vision and the courage to turn ideas into action.

“Anyone who talks to me quickly recognises how much I love what I do. I enjoy the challenge of solving something new, learning from every project and working with people who bring different perspectives. For me, energy is where knowledge, collaboration and passion come together to turn an idea into something real – electricity.”
