Upcoming event: FT Energy Transition Summit – Energy Community Director to speak on energy security

The Financial Times will host its 11th Energy Transition Summit, "Powering a world under pressure", on 19–20 October 2026 at The Landmark in London, in person and online. The summit will bring together senior representatives from government, industry, and finance to examine how energy systems are evolving amid renewed security of supply concerns, rising electricity demand driven by electrification and digitalisation, and growing investment in clean and domestically produced power.
As the central platform for advancing energy market integration between the European Union and the Energy Community Contracting Parties in Southeast and Eastern Europe, the Energy Community Secretariat will participate in the summit as a supporting partner.
Energy Community Secretariat Director Artur Lorkowski will take part in the panel "Energy security in times of war: exposure, price and dependence" on 19 October.
The discussion will address the impact of the war in the Middle East on oil and gas markets and supply routes, and how governments and investors can reduce structural dependence risks without raising costs or slowing the deployment of new energy sources. Director Lorkowski will share perspectives on why EU–Energy Community market integration must accelerate, ahead of EU accession, in order to strengthen resilience and security of supply across Europe.
