Croatia increases its contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund to EUR 2.5 million
Contribution strengthens the Ukraine Energy Support Fund as a central mechanism for Ukraine's energy system recovery and resilience
The Republic of Croatia has signed a EUR 1.5 million contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, bringing its lifetime contribution to EUR 2.5 million. The contribution is already available for the Fund to use towards the procurement of urgent energy aid to Ukraine, in line with priorities identified by Ukraine's Ministry of Energy.
To date, the Fund has signed over 1,000 supply contracts worth more than EUR 910 million, with reported deliveries exceeding EUR 650 million in key energy-related assistance, with the vast majority of procurements going to the country's electricity generation and distribution capabilities.
"In a highly volatile context where ongoing and war-induced damage to energy infrastructure requires rapid and adaptive responses, Croatia's contribution is invaluable," said Energy Community Secretariat Director Artur Lorkowski. "The funds will be turned into an energy lifeline – ensuring that energy companies can continue to provide heat and light to communities across the country, despite ongoing attacks.”
Croatia's most recent donation is part of an international response that has grown in proportion to Russia's escalating energy war. Since November 2025, it has secured over EUR 600 million in signed contributions – almost 30% of its lifetime contributions to date – underlining the international community's recognition of the Fund as a central mechanism to repair, restore and strengthen Ukraine’s energy system.
