Moldova
On 5–6 June 2025, the management of the Energy Community Secretariat visited Chisinau to participate in the 6th EU–Moldova High Level Energy Dialogue and to hold bilateral meetings with key Moldovan institutions.
The visit began with the High-Level Dialogue hosted by European Commissioner for Energy and Housing, Mr. Jørgensen, and the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Dorin Junghietu. The Energy Community Secretariat was represented by its Director, Mr. Artur Lorkowski, who delivered a comprehensive intervention addressing Moldova’s energy security, reform milestones and the country’s seasonal preparedness plans.
In addition, Mr. Lorkowski held bilateral meetings with the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Environment, ANRE, Energocom, and Moldelectrica. The discussions covered a wide range of topics, including the adoption and implementation of the Electricity Integration Package, development of the DAM/IDM and balancing markets, NEMO designation, PSO reform, and Moldova’s integration into the SDAC/SIDC mechanisms and upcoming legislative reforms of the gas sectors.
The visit reaffirmed the Secretariat’s continued support to Moldova through the EU-funded Moldova Energy Independence and Resilience (MEIR) Project and its broader technical assistance framework.
