Telescopic Semi-Trailers Enhance Ukrenergo's Power Line Restoration Efforts
Ukraine's TSO, Ukrenergo, has boosted its capacity for rapid oversized load delivery with two new telescopic semi-trailers funded by the EU’s Ukraine Energy Support Fund, managed by the Energy Community Secretariat.
These specialised vehicles, purchased with contributions from KfW on behalf of the German Ministry of Economy, in collaboration with Pulsar Expo from Ukraine, are designed to transport up to three high-voltage power line towers at a time, reaching 25 metres in height and weighing up to 24 tonnes.
The semi-trailers feature adjustable platforms, allowing flexibility for smaller cargo, making them invaluable for restoring power lines swiftly after attacks. This critical upgrade underscores the ongoing support provided by the Energy Community Secretariat and international partners to strengthen Ukraine’s energy resilience.
The Fund was created to address the devastating impact of Russian attacks on Ukraine's critical energy infrastructure, delivering swift financial support for urgent restoration efforts in the face of widespread blackouts and power outages affecting millions.
