Poland expresses its solidarity with Ukraine by contributing PLN 13.5 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund
Poland recently contributed PLN 13.5 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund (UESF) to enable Ukraine to repair the severe damages inflicted on its energy system in the past year and most recently. Poland’s contribution is a clear sign of solidarity with Ukraine which has faced severe attacks daily in recent weeks.
The Fund, supported by contributions from governments, international organisations, and corporate donors, plays a crucial role in providing immediate assistance to repair critical energy infrastructure. Administered by the Energy Community Secretariat in cooperation with Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy, the UESF has attracted more than EUR 1 billion from 30 international donors, including 6 companies and non-state organisations. While the Fund has made rapid progress in refurbishing and installing key priority capacities for winter, further contributions are urgently needed to sustain recovery efforts.
