Sweden’s SEK 500 million / EUR 45 million contribution to Ukraine Energy Support Fund powers future energy stability

In response to Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, Sweden has contributed SEK 500 million / approximately EUR 45 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, managed by the Energy Community Secretariat. The funding is facilitating the acquisition of gas turbines for electricity and heat production, helping Ukraine address its urgent energy needs during the conflict.

With the project set to be fully operational by 2025, Sweden’s support reflects its enduring commitment to standing firmly with Ukraine, reinforcing energy stability and resilience in the face of ongoing targeted attacks on energy infrastructure.

The Ukraine Energy Support Fund remains a vital channel for international support, enabling countries and organisations to assist Ukraine in restoring its energy infrastructure and secure reliable energy supplies during the war in Ukraine.
