EU4Energy initiates talks on regional infrastructure projects with Belarus

Energy Community experts met with the representatives of the Ministry of Energy of Belarus and the State Production Association "Belenergo" to discuss cooperation within the regional dimension of EU4Energy Governance, which provides support to beneficiary countries in identifying key regional energy infrastructure projects with the aim of fostering trade and improving security of supply. The Energy Community Secretariat presented the methodology for identification of such strategic projects. Once identified, these projects could potentially be considered for assistance under the Neighbourhood Investment Facility – the European Union’s blending mechanism for the region.

This project is part of the EU4Energy Initiative which covers all EU support for evidence-based energy policy-making and energy efficiency in the region of the Eastern Partnership, which brings together the EU, its member states and six partner countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
