The first EU4Energy regional event took place on 13 October in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, back to back with the Energy Community Ministerial Council. Bringing together representatives of Eastern Partnership countries, European Commission, Energy Community Secretariat, International Energy Agency and Energy Charter Secretariat, the meeting served to present the draft annual and multiannual work programmes and discuss the next steps.
EU4Energy is a four-year programme of EU technical assistance launched in June 2016, as a follow up to the INOGATE Programme. EU4Energy Component 3 "Legislative and Regulatory Environment and Key Energy Infrastructure" is funded by the European Union and co-financed and implemented by the Energy Community Secretariat and the Energy Charter Secretariat. Its aim is to provide an improved legislative and regulatory framework in the area of energy and define key strategic energy infrastructure projects. The initiative covers six countries - Moldova, Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Belarus.
