Facts and Figures

 

Standard fact sheet about the Energy Community. Composed of one double-sided A4, the sheet sums up the tasks, aims and structures of the organisation. The version on-line dates from 1 May 2010.


 

A complementary fact sheet on the Energy Community Regulatory Board, ECRB. Designed in a double sided flyer format, the sheet describes composition, tasks and activities of the ECRB. The latest version is available on-line as of Feb 2010.

 

 

 


 

Energy Community Legal Framework

 

On the occasion of the Dec 2008 Ministerial Council, the Secretariat presented the first edition of the Energy Community Legal Framework. The publication consists of three parts. Whilst the Part I replicates the Treaty establishing the Energy Community, the Part II provides a complete list of the Energy Community acquis communautaire. The Part III displays a selection of the Energy Community secondary legislation.

The Legal Framework publication has been compiled by the Secretariat for reference purposes only and is not authentic.

 

 

 


Key Note Speeches

The selected speeches were held by the leading figureheads of the process. The speeches date from years 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2009 and portrait well the development of the Energy Community process.  
 

Mr. Andris Piebalgs, Member of the EC in charge of Energy, gave an opening speech on the occassion of signing the Treaty establishing Energy Community in Athens, Greece on 25 October 2005.

Mr. Erhard Busek, Special Co-ordinator for the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, spoke about the modus operandi of Energy Community at the Energy Investment Round Table in Munich, Germany on 8 May 2006. 

Mr. Slavtcho Neykov, Director of Energy Community Secretariat, adressed the Parliamentary Conference in Sofia, Bulgaria on 24-26 May 2007.  The Treaty establishing Energy Community is at the centre of the focus.

On 15 May 2009, Mrs. Dr. Meglena Kuneva, EU Commissioner for Consumer Affairs, gave a lecture at the Energy Community Secretariat. As for her, “the ultimate indicator of success for the Energy Community project will be to make energy markets work better for consumers.”
