9 DEC 2010: 2ND BRIEFING OF THE DIPLOMATIC CORPS

The second Briefing of Vienna based Diplomatic Corps took place on 9 December 2010. 

Mr. Fatmir Besimi, Minister of Economy of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, in his function as the Energy Community Presidency in Office, officially opened the meeting.
 

In his key note speech, Mr. Fabrizio Barbaso, Deputy Director General for Energy at the European Commission, urge the Contracting Parties to focus on the application of the acquis
 

Director Slavtcho Neykov outlined the findings of the latest Implementation Report and key developments steps in 2010.
 

More than 60 ambassadors and diplomats, including the reprentatives of the Austrian, Turkish and former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia Ministries, took part to the event.

 

H.E. Mr. Neven Madey, from the Croatian Permanent Mission to the international Organisations in Vienna, raised the issue of differing enegy agendas between OSCE and the Energy Community. 

 

H.E. Mr. Ashot Hovakimian, from the Armenian Embassy, reiterated on his country's interest in obtaining an Observer status at the Energy Community.
 

H.E. Mr. Ihor Prokopchuk, Ukrainian Permanent Mission to the international Organisations in Vienna, was interested to know whether the increases in investment volume after the entry into force of the Treaty have been assessed.
