Established by Article 58 of the Treaty establishing the Energy Community, the Energy Community Regulatory Board (ECRB) comprises representatives of the Energy Regulatory Authorities of each Contracting Party and the European Community. Participants, Observers and ERGEG are invited to participate in the discussions of the ECRB.
According to Article 58 of the Treaty establishing Energy Community, ECRB functions comprise
- advise the Ministerial Council or the Permanent High Level Group on the details of statutory, technical and regulatory rules;
- issue Recommendations on cross-border disputes involving two or more Regulators, upon request of any of them;
- take Measures, if so empowered by the Ministerial Council;
- adopt Procedural Acts.
ECRB meets four times a year in Athens. Whilst the European Commission acts always as Vice-President, the ECRB elects its President in office.
